Acey Vilder Kelly, 91, of Holmes Mill departed this life on Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Hazard ARH Hospital.  Born September 13, 1932 in Holmes Mill, he had lived there his whole life.  He was a retired coal miner and believed in the Pentecostal faith.  Vilder was a devoted husband, father, grandfather; he loved fishing and his little dog "Baby Girl".

Vilder was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Lee Maggard Kelly on March 4, 2018.  They shared 63 wonderful years together.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, Cordie Huff Kelly and Corbin Kelly; a daughter, Phyllis Lynn Kelly; two sisters, Phyllis R. Cline and Mildred Daniels; and nine brothers, Harold, Howard, JC, John Henry, Denver, Tudor, James, Hubert and Roy Kelly.

Survivors include his children, Barbara (Robert) Roberts, Closplint; Carolyn Kelly, Holmes Mill; Acey "Quinton" (Claudia) Kelly, Holmes Mill; and David Kelly, Holmes Mill; and a sister, Sarah Jane Blair, Wabash, IN.  Also surviving are six grandchildren, Barbara Roberts (Steve) and Kelly Roberts, both of Goldsboro, NC; Josh (Sara) Kelly, Holmes Mill; Robert (Emily) Roberts, Harlan; Matthew Glen (Aubree) Roberts, Closplint; Arthur Kelly, Closplint; nine great-grandchildren, Chris, Mason, Chase, McKinleigh, Lila, Jacob, Isabelle, Robert, and Ireland; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

His visitation will be Monday from 5 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 1 pm in the chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend Bradley Guthrie officiating.

He will be laid to rest beside his wife in the Francis Heirs Cemetery at Holmes Mill.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
