Alex Napier (better known as Pap to this grandkids), 68, of Dartmont, Kentucky, peacefully went to be with Jesus on Thursday, December 19, 2024, with his family by his side.  He was born on November 10, 1956 in Harlan, Kentucky to Robert and Jean Napier.  He lived most of his younger years in Charleston, South Carolina but returned home to the mountains that he loved.  He worked as a coal miner and carpenter.  He enjoyed camping and arrowhead digging, but most of all being with his family, especially his "grandyoungins".

Alex is preceded in death by his father, Robert; brothers, Hubert and Gary; sister, Carolyn; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Brad and Ruby Burkhart.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Lillie Mae; three children, Teresa (Jimmy Joe), Ashton (Jason), Logan (Sasha); eight grandyoungins: Destiny, Austin, Shelby, Trevor, Alex, Lilly, Cora, and Dixie; his mother, Jean; sisters, Dorothy and Teresa; and brother, Bobbie.

In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated.  A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Willow Grove Baptist Church on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 5 until 8 pm.
