Ferguson
Nov 29, 1944 — Feb 19, 2026
Harlan
Rebecca Ann (Craig) Ferguson, age eighty-one, of Harlan, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Buchanan Place Health & Rehabilitation in New Tazewell, Tennessee.
Ann, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on November 29, 1944, to Eli and Evelyn (Wilson) Craig. She had five beloved siblings: four brothers: Johnny, Kelly, Eli, and Monroe; and one sister, Pat.
She dedicated many years to working at Walmart, where her kindness, warmth, and sweet smile touched both coworkers and customers. Her greatest joy was found in her family; she was a loving mother and adored her grandchildren, always offering support and encouragement. Ann believed in the Baptist faith.
She found peace and happiness in her garden, tending to beautiful flowers that brought much joy to all who visited. Her gentle spirit and joyful presence will be deeply missed, but her memory and her legacy of love will remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Eli and Evelyn Craig; a daughter, Tammy Wacks; a brother, Johnny Craig; and a grandson, Michael Joshua Tackett.
Those left to cherish her memory include her three children: Michael Tackett and wife, Shawna, of Georgia, Donna Branson and Wendy Clem, both of Harlan; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Pat Ball and husband, Mike, of Grays Knob; three brothers: Kelly Craig of Coldiron, Eli Craig, Jr. and wife, Shirley, of Molus, and Monroe Craig and wife, Teresa, of Olive Hill, KY; a host of extended relatives as well as many friends.
Services for Ann will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, in the chapel of Harlan Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be held from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm with the funeral service beginning at 1:00. Her brother, Monroe Craig, will be officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Harlan County Memorial Gardens at Lay Hill (Tremont). Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Harlan Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ms. Ann Ferguson.
