Obituary

Anthony Williams, age 50, of Dayhoit, KY, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 while at his home.

Anthony was born in Harlan on May 23, 1972. He graduated from James A. Cawood High School and immediately began working with a construction company. He worked as a heavy equipment operator until he retired due to a medical issue. Anthony was a quiet, kind man with a gentle, generous spirit. He was always willing to help anyone who was in need. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, watching movies, working on his Trans-Am, and especially loved to go hunting with his younger brother, Kevin. Anthony was crazy about his nephew, Bryson, whom he lovingly referred to as 'Little Man'.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Jewell, grandparents: Mable Ball, Verlan Ball, and Mable Jewell; uncle, Foy Ball; aunts: Sylvia Dean and Barbara Galligher; uncles: Mike, Herb, Rick, and Lynvell Jewell and Larry Jones; and cousins: Teresa Dean, Kristen Sexton, and Pat Galligher.

Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memory are his parents, Suvilla and Kenneth Jewell of Dayhoit, KY; his brother, Richard Jewell and wife, Ashley, and his beloved nephew, Bryson Jewell, all of Georgetown, KY; two step-sons: Ricky Griffey of Lexington, and David Thompson and wife, Norma, of TN; two half-sisters: Tracy and Cheryl Lynn; several grandchildren; a host of extended relatives and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 in the chapel of the Harlan Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Monday, February 6 at 1:00pm at Resthaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity that Anthony faithfully supported.
