Barbara Jewel Barnes Napier, 77, of Coulterville, IL, formerly of Harlan County, departed this life at the Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, IL. She was born May 13, 1949 in Harlan County, but had lived the last half of her life in Illinois. Barbara worked for the United States Postal Service, loved going to church all the time, and enjoyed being around her family and even loved being around her neighbor's kids.

     She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Barnes and Merthell Adkins Barnes; and three sisters, Joyce Gilbert, Evelyn Martin and Paulie Guthrie.

     Survivors include her husband, Bobby Napier, Coulterville, IL; two children, Eric Napier and Lyndill Napier, both of Illinois; three grandchildren, Alexandria, Jaylen and Breanna; a great-grandchild, Carolina Jewel; and a host of other family and friends.

     Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home.

     Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 1 pm in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill Moore officiating.

     Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with her family and friends serving as pallbearers.
