Beverly M. Shoemaker Tomlinson, 91, of Evarts went to her heavenly home on Monday, April 14, 2025. Born February 21, 1934 in Harlan County, she had lived here all of her life.  Beverly was a faithful member of the Evarts Baptist Church where she had previously served as a Sunday School teacher.  She continued to tell people about Jesus at every opportunity she had.  She enjoyed listening to music and reading the Bible, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, whom she loved dearly.

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Tomlinson; her parents, Hubert and Lavinia Pace Shoemaker; a son-in-law, George W. "Byrd" Carr; and two brothers and their wives, J.B. and Rachel Shoemaker and Bill and Carol Shoemaker.

She is survived by three children, Charles Roger Tomlinson and wife, Chong, Elgin, SC; Linda Carr, Evarts; and John Bill Tomlinson and wife, Pam, Putney.  Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Violet (Daniel) Hadorn, Linda (David) Lee, Danny (Audrey) Tomlinson, Adam (Tanya) Carr and Natalie Tomlinson; 12 great-grandchildren: Angela, Carl and Travis Hadorn; Jaden, Kayla and Keira Lee; Elijah, Maddox and Esther Tomlinson; Luke, Khloe and Sam Carr; one great-great-grandchild, Lyra Smith; and a host of other extended family, her church family and friends.

Beverly's visitation will be held Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Evarts Funeral Home beginning at 11 am with funeral services to follow at 1 pm.  The Reverend Donnie Adkisson will officiate.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Evarts Memorial Gardens with her family and friends serving as pallbearers.
