Obituary

Bradley Allen Harris "Brother", age 30, of Coldiron, Kentucky, passed away on October 10, 2022, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center surrounded by his family following a short hospital stay.

Services for Brad will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at the Harlan Baptist Church in Harlan, Ky. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00pm with the funeral service beginning at 7:00. Pastor Josh Haywood will be officiating. The graveside service will be held on October 15th, 10:00am at Resthaven Cemetery, Keith, Kentucky.

Brad was born on Feb 4, 1992, in Harlan, Ky to the proud parents, Greg and Teresa Harris, and big sister, Bethany.  In 1995, Brad got a bonus mom, Kathy Harris. A few years later, Brad gained a little sister, Lexie. Brad had a wonderful childhood filled with family and friends who taught him to be a great outdoorsman. He spent most of his time in the woods hunting or on the lake fishing. He also had a special interest in music and was a very talented guitarist. Brad believed in the Christian faith and was saved and baptized at the age of 7 at Putney Bible Church. Brad was strong in his faith as a kid and was always told he was going to be a preacher by his late papaw Lowell.  He didn't quite make a preacher but he loved God and had a good relationship with Him. He was a graduate of Harlan County High School, class of 2010. After graduation Brad attended lineman school in Somerset, Ky and graduated in 2011. He went to work for Elliot and Pike as a traveling lineman for a short time before landing his dream job with KU here in Harlan, KY. Brad was a phenomenal lineman and his dedication and hard work he devoted to everything in life shined in his performance at work. Brad was a very special uncle to his nephews and niece whom he loved with all his heart. When Brad wasn't working or spending time with his family he was usually on a boat fishing, I don't know of anyone who enjoyed fishing as much as he did. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends around a fire, picking a guitar and occasionally even singing (after he got a few in him). He was also a semi-professional cornhole player and mediocre golfer. Brad was loved by all who met him. He will be dearly missed by so many people.

Brad was preceded in death by his Papaw, Lowell Harris, and his Granny, Gaynell Nolan, Mamaw and Papaw Freda and Jack Blanton.

Brad is survived by his Dad and Momma, Greg Harris and wife Kathy; Mommy, Teresa Stout and Joel Phillips; sister, Bethany White and husband, Justin; sister, Alexis Webb and husband, Dylan; nephews: Carter, Tucker, Tyler and Carson; one niece, Meredith; nana, Norma Harris; papaw, Ronnie "Duck" Nolan; special uncle, Chip Harris and wife, Erica; aunt Becky Collins and husband, Dean; uncle, Jeff Harris and wife Susan; aunt, Kathy Coleman and husband Benji; aunt, Angie Nolan; uncle, Jack Blanton and Mike Napier; girlfriend, Christy Johnson. We would also like to recognize special friend and role model, David Hood and a multitude of cousins and close friends.

Pallbearers will include closest friends - Bub Howard, Brad Howard, Jordan Harris, Jeffrey Saylor, Logan Napier, and Brian Owens.

Brad was a loving, loyal and devoted son, brother, uncle and friend. Even though Brad is gone from this earth he will continue to live on in our hearts and minds through memories and moments that we've shared with him throughout his life.  Brad's time on this earth was short but we know that we will see him again one day. By now he has surely found the best honey hole in heaven and is casting a line. We love you and will miss you always, Brad. Until we see you again, this is goodbye for now.

"Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it." -
