Brenda Joyce Ramsome Blanton, age 75, of Harlan, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, following a sudden illness. Brenda was born on January 27, 1949, in Russellville, KY, to the late James and Onie Hope Ramsome. She believed in the Christian faith. Brenda worked as a housekeeper for the Holiday Inn in Michigan before moving back to Harlan. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and was the rock that kept her family together.
In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Renee Blanton; a sister, May Prince; and former husband, Kenneth Blanton.
Survivors include her eight children: Diana (Norman) Barns, TX, Theresa Lewno, TX, Mike Terry, MI, Brian (Jackie) Blanton, VA, Kimberly Blanton (fiance, Glen Gross), Evarts, Crystal (James) Napier, Harlan, Jessica Jenkins, Harlan, and Terry Blanton, VA; fourteen grandchildren: Cayla, Jordon, Dustin (Ellen), and Zackery Blanton, Whitney Hensley, Danny Blanton, Krista Sturgill, Riley Jenkins, Brook, Caleb and Jayden Blanton, Shane and Clay Barnes, and Shawn Lewno; and fifteen  great-grandchildren; a host of extended family members; and many dear friends.
Visitation for Brenda will be held Monday, July 15, 2024, from 12:00-3:00 pm in the chapel of the Harlan Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 3:00. Reverend Phillip Wynn will be officiating.
She will be laid to rest in the Old Creech Cemetery at Wallins, KY, with family serving as pallbearers.
