Obituary

Brenda Joyce White Boggs, 86 of Cumberland, KY passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at her daughter's home. Her parents, the late Cecil and Bertha Hooks White, welcomed her birth on July 25, 1940. Brenda was a loving, caring, and devoted woman who always placed her family first.  She was friendly and outgoing, with a warm and welcoming personality that made everyone around her feel special.  Brenda never met a stranger and had a beautiful way of making people feel like family.  Her kind heart, beautiful soul and love for her family will be deeply cherished and remembered by all who knew her.

At an early age Brenda was saved and baptized into the Lynch Church of God where she became a devoted member and always made sure that she brought her grandchildren. She faithfully attended church every Sunday unless she was sick, and her faith was an important part of her life. Above all, Brenda treasured her family and took great pride in being a mother. She valued her grandchildren tremendously and cherished every moment she was able to spend with them. Her children and grandchildren were a very special part of her heart and brought her great joy. Brenda's love for her family, her faith, and the people around her was at the heart of who she was. She will always be remembered as a beautiful soul who gave love freely and left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Brenda had a knack for sewing, making crazy quilts and searching for a good yard sale. It was important that Brenda grew her own vegetables so that her family would have canned veggies. She learned the art of ceramics, making beautiful pieces and shared them with family and friends. She volunteered her time at the Tri-Cities Nursing Home, where she sat with the residents doing various activities with them.

She is preceded in death by her faithful husband of 51 years, Franklin Delano Boggs; her parents, Cecil and Bertha White; a son-in-law, Greg Adams; an infant brother, Glen White; a brother, Kenneth "Butch" White; two sisters, Wilma Vickery and Robin Patterson; a niece, Elizabeth Mullins and a nephew, Bryan White.

Brenda leaves to mourn her passing her two daughters, Terry Adams of Cumberland; Karen (Dennis) Daugherty of Cumberland; grandchildren, Greg (Joyce) Adams of Cumberland; Chelsea Adams (Doug Pinson) of Whitesburg; Damien Daugherty (Tori Williams) of Cumberland; Kacey McVey (Billy McVey) of Cumberland; Jesse Daugherty of Cumberland; two brothers, Jerry White (Geraldine) of Clinton, TN; Roger White (Lorene) Clinton, TN; two sisters, Jane Horn (Francis) Richmond, KY; and Freda Rose (Rickey) of Clinton, TN; a brother-in-law, Gary Patterson of Oliver Springs, TN; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Hunter, Kaleb, Sophia, Hayden, Jade, and Destiney; one great-grandson, Owen Adams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Her visitation will be Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the Tri City Funeral Home from 12 pm until 2 pm. Her funeral will be at 2 pm with the Reverend Rod Raleigh officiating. Interment will follow at the Sandhill Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
