Brian Allen Short, 40, of Kenvir, departed this life on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Harlan App. Reg. Hospital.  Brian was born on February 8, 1985 in Harlan to Andrea Wynn Short and Roy Short of Kenvir.  A graduate of Evarts High School, he was a former customer service and store manager for Big Lots and Save-a-lot.  He enjoyed motorcycles and four wheeling, was an avid UK Wildcat fan, but he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ott and Irene Wynn; and his paternal grandparents, Eugene and Mae Short.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Crystal Shell Short, Kenvir; two sons, Blake Short and Jaxon Short, both of Shields; four step-children, Timothy Moore and wife, Mary, Harlan; Dylan Moore and wife, Haley, Kenvir; Justin Moore, Harlan; Kristen Macdonald and husband, Gage, Ontario, Canada; his brother, Adam Short and wife, Jessica, Kenvir; one nephew, Tyler Short; two nieces, Kaydence Wynn, Sophia Short; and a host of other family and friends.
