Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Buddy Ira Wright, Sr. who left this world on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the age of 56.

Buddy was a devoted father, a loving husband, and a dependable friend.  He was a hard-working man who believed in providing for the people he loved.  Through long days, difficult seasons, and countless sacrifices, he remained committed to his family.  His strength was often quiet, shown not only through his words, but through everything he did.

Although he took great pride in his work, his greatest accomplishment was his family. As a father, he offered guidance, protection, encouragement, and unconditional love.  He taught his children the importance of honesty, responsibility, and keeping their word.

His presence brought strength and comfort, and his absence will be deeply felt.

He was preceded in death by Gan-gan, James, Earl and Phyllis.

He is survived by his wife of eight years, Christine; his children, Joseph Wright and wife, Jessielene; Jacob Wright; Savannah Blevins and husband, Joe; Sierra Wright; and Buddy Wright, Jr. and wife, Amber; and 23 grandchildren: Bella, Joshua, Tanner, Hudson, Dakota, Easton, Zacharia, Peyton, Octavia, Jacob, Jr., Brantley, Keighlee, Annabelle, Braighlee, Keenan, Bellamy, Jamison, Joe, Jr., Kain, Natalie, Jordan, Mason and Brooklyn.

He and his loving wife, Chrissy, were married on May 13, 2018, beginning a beautiful chapter of love, companionship, and cherished memories together.  His mother-in-law, Judy Anderson, held a very special place in his heart.  He also shared a close and meaningful bond with his nephew, Noah Shepherd, and a special cousin, Curtus Young.

Also surviving are his siblings, Tammy Wotier and husband, Harold; Donna Middleton and husband, Marty; and James Wright and wife, Claudette; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Buddy may no longer be with us in person, but the love he gave, the values he taught, and the memories he created will remain forever.  His hands may now be at rest, but the work of his heart will live on through everyone he loved.

His visitation will be held Monday, September 21, 2026, at the Evarts Funeral Home beginning at 1 pm with his funeral service to follow at 3 pm with the Reverend Bradley Guthrie officiating.
