Cecil Marlon Shepherd, 56, of Thornhill, TN, formerly of Cumberland, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. He was born January 22, 1967 to the late Alfaird and Caroline Cross Shepherd. He was a rock mason for a family business. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren, who were the light of his world. He also loved riding his motorcycle and four-wheelers in the mountains, hunting mushrooms, ginseng, or fossils and going fishing with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Brown and Sannie Catherine Shepherd.

Those left to cherish his memory are his lifelong partner, Carolyn Sue Shepherd; two daughters, Amanda Shepherd (Michael McVay), of Ewing, VA; Catherine Shepherd Deal (Austin Jenkins), of Cumberland; two brothers, Chris Brown, of Lexington; and Rocky Shepherd, of Cumberland; two sisters, Rose Shepherd (Rick Banks), of Cumberland; and Violet Brown Shepherd, of Lexington; six grandchildren, Cambria Hudson; Brianna Deal; Braxton Halcomb; Carter Halcomb; Brooklyn Halcomb; Avery Halcomb; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
