Charles Lee Massingale, 79, of Loyall passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025, at his residence. He was born February 25, 1946 in Coxton, KY to the late Lee Massingale and Mary Sturgill Massingale. He worked as a coal miner and at Harlan Retread for many years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Charles Lee Massingale, Jr.; and six brothers, Jack Mink, Jerry Mink, Calvin Massingale, Henry Massingale, Johnny Esaw Massingale and George Allen Massingale.

Charles is survived by three daughters, Jenny Miller, Lisa Green and Rosetta Massingale, all of Harlan; three brothers, Jim Massingale, Massachusetts; Tom Massingale and wife, Nancy, Tompkinsville, KY; and Joe Massingale and wife, Paula, London; and one sister, Martha Hendricks and husband, William, McLain, Mississippi.

Also surviving are several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and a special niece, Brandy Maggard, Harlan.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2025 in the chapel of the Loyall Funeral Home with funeral services starting at 1 p.m.

Military Rites will be performed by the Harlan Honor Guard in the parking lot of the Loyall Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Moody Cemetery in Tazewell, TN with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
