Christine Overton, 83, of Cumberland, KY passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at her sister's home surrounded by her family.  She was born on March 25, 1942 to the late Milburn and Nannie Caldwell Rhymer. Christine believed in the Pentecostal faith and attended church regularly when she was able to go.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Shelby Overton; two brothers, Rufus and Gerald Jack Rhymer; an infant sister, Mildred Jene Rhymer; and three sisters, Cora McHargue, Wanda Eldridge, and Geneva Zachary.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her children, Andrew Sturgill and Rebecca Bailey; her sisters, Kathy Ellis of Cumberland, KY; Wilma Golden of Brandenburg, KY; Mary Calton and husband, Kenny, of Heiskell, TN; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, March 16, 2026, at the Tri City Funeral Home from 11 am until 1 pm. Her funeral service will be at 1 pm with her brother-in-law, Kenny Calton, officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
