Cleo "Granny" Widner Shelton, 89, of Ages departed this life on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.  Born June 19, 1934 in Harlan County, she had lived here most of her life. Cleo loved serving the Lord, she was a prayer warrior and a member of the Ages Church of God.  Cleo enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family who was her whole heart. She was her daughter's best friend.

She is preceded in death by her husband who was the love of her life, Ray Shelton; her parents, Leta Wolfford Widner and Floyd Widner; a son-in-law whom she loved as her own, Larry Preston; two sisters, Frances Saylor and Ruby Fox; and six brothers, Dewey, Lige, Alfred, Fred, Henry Ray and Frank Widner.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Huff and husband, Virgil, Closplint; and Leta Fuson and husband, Ed, Ages; eight grandchildren, Michelle (Jimmy) Walker, Elizabethtown; Renee Preston Mumford, Wallins; Jason Preston, Ages; Joe (Heather) Shelton, Grays Knob; Robbie (Autumn) Preston, Ages; Ed Fuson, Jr., Ages; Gary (Della) Fuson,  Rosspoint; and Larry (Brandy) Fuson, Verda; 21 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren expected soon; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends including her "chosen" family, David and Wanda Burkhart; Jason and Rachel Burkhart; and Lisa Burkhart Goins. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Perryville, KY on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 2 pm with Reverend Bradley Guthrie officiating. Her family will serve as pallbearers.
