Mrs. Daisy Delilah Doyle of London, Kentucky, formerly of Wallins, celebrated her 87th birthday as she stepped into her eternity with her Savior on Thursday, October 31, 2024. She was at Laurel Heights in London with her family at her bedside.

The oldest of two daughters born to James Otis and Lily (Hensley) Roe, Delilah entered this world on October 31, 1937, in Wallins, KY. She was a 1955 graduate of Wallins High School. At the age of sixteen, Delilah was saved and began playing the piano at her church, the Wallins Church of God, where she faithfully served in that role for over 50 years. Wallins Church of God was the only church Delilah attended throughout her lifetime. After graduating from high school, she worked at Newberry's Department Store in downtown Harlan, riding the VTC bus each day to and from work.

On September 2, 1959, Delilah married her sweetheart, Rondal Lee Doyle. God blessed that union with 53 years and two children whom they adored, Connie and Ronnie. Being a godly mother and wife were most important to Delilah. She prayed for her husband and invited him to attend church with her year after year. She continued to pray and to ask. Thirty years later, God blessed her faithfulness by saving Rondal and they spent the remainder of their years serving in their beloved church, worshiping together until he passed in 2013.

Delilah loved music, enjoyed collecting Barbie dolls, and was known for her delicious birthday cakes. If she knew someone was having a birthday, they received a cake and a card containing $20 every year. She was a quiet, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her grandchildren fiercely and thoroughly enjoyed any time she was able to spend with them.

What a homecoming celebration Delilah must have received from loved ones who were waiting to welcome her, including her husband, Rondal; her parents, Otis and Lily Roe; her daughter, Connie Bernice Doyle Brock; and a brother-in-law, Wayne Sergent.

Among those left to cherish her memory are her son, Ronnie Doyle, and wife, Sue, of London, KY; her sister, Elizabeth 'Tina' Sergent of Corbin, KY; six grandchildren: Kristy (Kyle) Sturgill, London; Reverend Jacob (Glenda) Doyle, Cumberland; Katie (Stephen) Browning, Corbin; Dr. Joshua (Regina) Doyle, Catrons Valley; Leah (JoJo) Stephens, Corbin; Sam (Sarah) Stallard, Berea; thirteen great-grandchildren, and one on the way; a host of extended relatives plus many dear friends.

Services for Mrs. Delilah will take place on Monday, November 4, 2024, in the chapel of Harlan Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11:00am – 12:00 noon with the funeral service beginning at 12:00. Reverend Buddy Simpson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
