David Howard Linville, 70, of Jones Creek, departed this life on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at his home. He was born on October 21, 1955, in Syracuse, NY, to the late Don Dean Linville and Seville Jean Middleton Linville, but had lived here in Harlan County most of his life. David was a coal miner and enjoyed watching westerns.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by a brother, Steven Linville.

Survivors include a son, David Vaughn and wife, Stephanie, Harlan; a brother, Duane Linville, Jones Creek; a sister, Donna Middleton and husband, Tim, New Market, TN; a grandson, Jacob Vaughn; a special niece, Kierstyn Linville; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 2 pm at the Resthaven Cemetery with the Reverend Butch Clem officiating.
