Donald Wayne Helton, 79, of Partridge passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital surrounded by family. He was born on September 20,1945 in Lynch, KY to the late Gilbert and Pauline Williams Helton. Don was a Kentucky Colonel and served three years in the United States Army. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Don was a life-long Harlan countian and a very avid University of KY basketball fan.  He loved spending time with his family and friends going fishing on his houseboat on Norris Lake. He has always been a good Samaritan, helping anyone that he could.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his siblings and a son-in-law, Teddy Lloyd.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 56 years, Wanda Davis Helton; two children, Donna Helton Lloyd of Cumberland; Bobby Helton and wife, Hollie, of Lafollette, TN; five grandchildren, Ashley Lloyd; Katie Nunley and husband, Isaiah; Dylan Swann and wife, Brandi; Elijah Helton; Cheyenna Lloyd; two great-grandchildren, Willa and Ruby; his favorite fur-baby, Bella; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. A special thank you to his great-niece, Brittany Helton-Gibson.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 1-3 PM at the Trinity Tabernacle Church at Hiram. His celebration of life service will follow with the Reverend Jonathan Adams and Reverend Ron Oplinger officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tri City Funeral Home to help offset the funeral costs.
