Donald Ray Lawson, 84, of Coxton passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at his home with his family by his side.  Don was born on June 25, 1938 in Evarts and had lived here most of his life.  He retired from McComb Supply as their shipping and receiving clerk upon their closure.  He was a Deacon at the Church of God the Gospel Assembly.  Don enjoyed spending time with his family and especially loved helping other people.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Marie Wilber Lawson; his parents, Frank Lawson and Dora Fee Lawson; his son, John Allen Lawson; a sister, Marie Lawson; and a brother, William Lawson and wife, Evelyn.

Those left to mourn his passing are his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Dennis Dover, Maynardville, TN; a granddaughter, Amanda Lawson, Coxton; a sister, Jan Whitaker and husband, Eugene, Coxton; and a brother, Harry James "Jim" Lawson and wife, Lecreta, Harlan.  Also surviving is a special niece that was like a sister to him, Rita Stewart, Coxton; a special sister-in-law, Debbie Sizemore and husband, Gerry, Indiana; a nephew, Jimmy Lawson; nieces, Anndrea Plamp, Chassidy Reynolds, Theresa Mosier and Kim Vaughn; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and his church family.

His visitation will be held at the Evarts Funeral Home Thursday, April 20, 2023, beginning at 11 am with funeral services to follow at 1 pm.  Brother Robby Herrington and Brother Tony Hughes will officiate.

He will be laid to rest beside his wife and son at Evarts Memorial Gardens with his family and friends serving as pallbearers.
