Dorothy Ann Boggs Allen, 74, of Loyall went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 2, 2022, at the U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville, TN with her family by her side. Born May 6, 1948 in Harlan County, she was a homemaker and believed in the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Boggs and Lucille McQueen Boggs.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Franklin Allen, Loyall; three children, Cynthia Lynn Yeary and husband, Mark, Knoxville, TN; Melinda Sue Allen, Loyall; and Angela Kaye Tolliver, Loyall; one brother, Glenn C. Boggs and wife, Dessie, Catrons Creek; and one sister, Lisa Lynn Boggs, Loyall. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Meredith Yeary Kirk and husband, Chase; Cameron Yeary; James Bumgardner; Cellina Hatmaker; Lindsey Hatmaker; McKaelyn Hatmaker; Emily North; Micah Tolliver and Abigail Tolliver; and one great-grandchild, Brayden Bumgardner.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2022, in the chapel of the Loyall Funeral Home with funeral services starting at 7 p.m. with Pastor Arnold Hammons officiating.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
