Dorothy Lou
Eldridge
Jun 17, 1943 — Oct 4, 2025
Molus
Ms. Dorothy Lou Dove Eldridge, age 82, of Molus, Kentucky, met her Savior face to face on Saturday, October 4, 2025, after a brief stay at the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, KY.
Dorothy was born on June 17, 1943 to Willie Carl and Lucille Brock Dove. She had two beloved brothers, Slim and Tommy. She was a graduate of Wallins High School and earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Southeast Community and Technical College. After marrying Hubert Eldridge, the love of her life, they moved to Cincinnati, Ohio and started their family. God blessed Dorothy and Hubert's marriage with thirty years together and five children whom they adored: Kathy, Carl, Wanda, Curtis, and 'Junebug' (Hubert, Jr.).
After living in Cincinnati for thirteen years, they decided to come back home to Molus, where they both lived out the remainder of their lives. After all, as Hubert would say, "A day away from Molus is a wasted day". Dorothy was lovingly referred to as 'Mother Molus'.
Dorothy gave her life to Christ and began to walk with the Lord at a very young age. Her walk with her Savior WAS her life. During her years serving Christ, she took on various roles…youth pastor, VBS director, bus driver, food ministry. She was blessed with an incredible singing voice which she shared the duration of her life. Even as she aged, she often commented "I'll never stop singing". Dorothy's amazing voice has now been added to the heavenly choir.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie Carl and Lucille Dove; special grandparents, Joseph Henderson and Elizabeth Brock, with whom she lived for many years; loving husband, Hubert; brother, Tommy Gene Dove; great-grandson, Arden Isaiah Smith; and a host of cherished brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws.
Left to cherish Dorothy's memories are her children: Kathy Brock and husband, Anthony, Carl Eldridge and wife, Missy, Wanda Carroll and husband, Odie, all of Molus, Curtis Eldridge and wife, Stephanie, of Pineville, and Hubert 'Junebug' Eldridge, Jr. and fiancé, Katie, of Wallins; son-in-love, Dana Vanover of Baxter; a brother, Arlan 'Slim' Brock and wife, Brenda, of Cincinnati, OH; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a host of special nieces and nephews; as well as many dear friends.
Services for Ms. Dorothy will be held at the Molus Pentecostal Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 5:00-8:00pm. The funeral will take place Wednesday, October 8 at 11:00am. Reverend Carl Eldridge and Reverend Odie Carroll will be officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the Resthaven Cemetery in Keith, KY. Grandsons and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
Harlan Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ms. Dorothy Eldridge.
