Ernest Lee Burke, age 52, of Partridge, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born December 26, 1970 in Benham, KY to Burton Calhoun and Lydia Hackney Burke.  Lee loved the mountains and being outdoors, going four wheeling and fishing. He had worked for SEKRI for more than twenty years as a machine operator. He was a hardworking man and was the family handyman.

Lee is preceded in death by his mother, Lydia Hackney Burke; grandmother, Betty Jean Dixon; and a brother, John Burke.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 18 years, Katherine Pennington Burke, of Partridge; his father, Burton Calhoun; children, Jonathan Franklin and wife, Meagan, of Cumberland; Bethany Butler and husband, Russell, of Partridge; a brother Phillip Calhoun and wife, Kim, of Lynch; a sister-in-law, Pam Burke, of Winchester; a sister, Judy Riley of St. Louis, Missouri; a granddaughter, Paislynn Grace Franklin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 6 to 8 PM with his memorial service beginning at 8 PM with the Reverend Billy Lewis officiating.
