Ernestine Hall Skeene, 72, of Evarts departed this life on Friday, July 19, 2024, at her home. Born September 2, 1951 in Harlan County, she had lived here most of her life. Ernestine was a homemaker and believed in the Holiness faith. She was a member of the Disney Pentecostal Church .

She is preceded in death by her parents, Philmore Hall and Vina Napier Hall Skeene; her husband, Danny Eugene Skeene; a daughter, Francis Skeene; two sisters, Patricia Cochran and Opal Hall; and three brothers, JC Hall; John Henry Hall and Jerry Wayne Hall.

Survivors include seven children, Nicole Huff, Evarts; Barb Napier and fiancé, Daniel Christian, Bledsoe; Jimmy Skeene, Beattyville; Debra Skeene Collett, Tazewell; Carl Skeene and wife, Judy, Lafollette; Danny Skeene and wife, Shel Lynn, Mobile, AL; and Catrina Ruth Laws and husband, Michael, Kitts; two sisters, Geraldine Bailey, Alabama; and Gloria Faye Hall Whitaker, Verda. Also surviving are 37 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
