Evelyn Marie Sutton Cox, 79, of Loyall entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, following a long illness.  Evelyn was born on July 28, 1943 in Harlan County to the late Tommie Glennings Sutton and the late Della Marie Barnes Sutton.  She and her husband had lived in Cincinnati, Ohio for many years before returning back to Harlan County following his retirement. Evelyn was the founder of the support group, "Mothers of Special Children in Cincinnati".  She was certified in 1992 as a Children's Worker for the Church of the Nazarene and in 2005 as a Chaplain, and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Baxter.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was also preceded in death by her husband, William Luther Cox; her son, David Adam Cox; and a brother, Glenn Curtis Sutton.

Survivors include a brother, Tommie Jr. Sutton; three sisters, Margaret Mae Sutton Higgs, Connie Sue Sutton Gamble and Sharon Darlene Sutton Glisson; and seventeen nieces and nephews.

Her visitation will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Harlan Funeral Home beginning at 1 pm with funeral services to follow at 3 pm.  The Reverend Jerry Glisson will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery at Rosspoint with her family and friends serving as pallbearers.
