Fred North, 76, of Mozelle passed away suddenly on Friday, July 5, 2024, at the Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital in Lebanon, Tennessee. Born August 31, 1947 in Leslie County, he had lived there most of his life. Fred retired as an equipment operator for Danley Steel Machine in Illinois.  He had served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and believed in the Pentecostal faith.  He enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader, and watching Western movies.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Robert North and Mallie Nantz North; three sisters, Christine Wilson, Virgie and June North; two brothers Melvin and Rob North; and a special niece, Joanne Simpson.

Survivors include two children, Freda and William North, Lebanon, TN; James Allen and Erin North, Tylor, TX; a sister, Addie North, Dayton, OH; two brothers, Dan North, Dayton, OH; Elvin (Myrtle) North, Illinois; four grandchildren, Alex (Jason) Mills, Ages; Taten, Keira and Kai North, Lebanon, TN; three great-grandchildren, Harmonee, Audree and Jason Brice Mills, Jr., Ages; and a host of other family and friends.

His visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 until 8 pm at the Kildav Community Church.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 12 noon at the Church with the Reverend Jason Mills officiating.

Burial will follow in the Veterans Administration Cemetery at Hyden, Kentucky with his family and friends serving as pallbearers. Military Rites will be performed at the cemetery.
