Gary Wayne Creech, 80, of Benham passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born in Benham on November 14, 1944, to the late Rankin and Myrtle Davis Creech. Gary was a loving husband and father, who loved spending time with his family whether it be playing sports, fishing, hunting, vacationing in Florida, or riding motorcycles.  Gary had a kind heart and a fantastic personality, to know him was to love him. He was proud of his heritage and being from the small town of Benham.  He proudly worked for 32 years as a coal miner.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a daughter, Kellie Fields, and two sisters, Shelby Clevinger and Martha Collins.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife of 60 years, Monette Creech of Benham; two children, Penny Creech of Lynch; Gary Wayne Creech II of London; two brothers, David Wayne Creech and wife, Rhonda, of Cumberland; Bill D. Creech and wife, Linda, of Waco, TX; a sister, Ruth A Jackson of Lily, KY; two grandchildren, Brett Shepherd and wife, Brooke, of Cumberland; Brandon Brock of Lynch; four special grandchildren, Brayden, Lincoln, Kash, and Waylon; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will be at the Tri City Funeral Home on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 5 to 7 pm. His memorial service will be at 7 pm with David Creech officiating.
