Geneva Starks Couch, 72, of Bledsoe, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at the Claiborne Medical Center following a long illness.  Born September 14, 1950, she had lived in Harlan County most of her life.  Geneva was formerly employed at H&R Block and Heights Finance in Harlan where she thoroughly enjoyed meeting and working with her customers and fellow employees.  She was very good with people and enjoyed being around them.  She was also an avid reader and believed in the Baptist faith.

Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Couch; her parents, James Starks, Sr. and Edith Bentley Starks; a sister, Judy Parker; and a brother, James Starks, Jr.

Survivors include two sisters, Diane Lapointe and husband, Fred, Zion, IL; Betty Dotson and husband, Jerry, London, KY; two brothers, Bill Starks and wife, Sheila, Keavy, KY; and Ronnie Starks, London, KY; and a host of other family and friends.

Her visitation will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the Harlan Funeral Home beginning at 12 noon followed by her funeral service at 2 pm.  The Reverend Kenneth Smith and the Reverend Nathan Boggs will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery with her family and friends serving as pallbearers.
