George Baker Miller, 94, of Kenvir went to his heavenly home on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at the Harlan ARH.  Born March 15, 1929 in Bell County, he had lived in Tennessee and Michigan before moving here in 1990 following his retirement as a foundry worker.  George was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the Brittain's Creek Baptist Church where he was very active as the Sunday School Superintendent.  George enjoyed fishing, hunting, grilling for his church, gardening, woodworking and yard work.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Naomi Strunk Miller; his parents, John Miller and Oma Malicoat Miller; siblings, Lillian, Bill and Harry; and two grandchildren, Pam Smith and Randy Smith, Jr.

Survivors include a daughter, Robin Grubbs, Richmond, KY; a son, George Gregory Miller and wife, Tara, Albion, MI; two step-sons, Randy Smith and Rick Smith and wife, Gail, all of Kenvir; 10 grandchildren, Resa Janway (Sam), Chrissy Penny (Wes), Little Rick Smith (Jessie), Tonya Smith, Mindy Smith, Steven Smith, April Vicini (Bo), Britt Anglian, Samantha Miller (Todd) and Gregory Miller (Taylor); 28 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a special companion, Glenda Hamblin, Kenvir; a host of other family, including Jim, Nancy and Sam Burns, Kenvir; and friends including special friends, Skip and Wanda Eldridge, Cotes.

His visitation will be held Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the Brittain's Creek Baptist Church beginning at 11 am with funeral services to follow at 1 pm.  The Reverend Don Johnson will officiate.  Military rites will be performed by the Harlan Honor Guard at the church following his service.

Interment will be at the Evarts Memorial Gardens at a later date.
