George Washington Pace, 75, of Dizney, departed this life for heaven's bright shore on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at his home. He was born on March 24, 1950 to the late Ben Pace and the late Letisha Hall Pace. George had worked as a police officer for the Harlan City Police Department before becoming disabled. He believed in the Pentecostal faith and was the Pastor of the Dizney Free Pentecostal Church serving the Lord faithfully for many years.

In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his wife, Sharol Whitman Pace; a brother, Will Pace; a sister, Arlene Pace; and a brother-in-law, George McKinney.

Survivors include six children, Benny Pace, Dizney; Lisa Wynn and husband, Walt, Jonesville, VA; Arthur Pace and wife, Ethel, Evarts; Mark Pace and wife, Candie, Dayhoit; Margie Smith and husband, Donnie, Smith; and George Pace and wife, Crystal, Arjay, KY; three sisters, Elizabeth McKinney, Big Stone Gap, VA; Irene Paterson and husband, Jack, Dizney; and Betty Pauline Pace, Evarts; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and a host nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 until 8 PM at the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 1 PM in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend Doug Daniels and Brother Ed Hoskins officiating.

Burial will follow in the Pace Family Cemetery at Dizney with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
