Georgia Winstead
Kelly
Sep 25, 1945 — Feb 24, 2026
Evarts
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Georgia Ruth Campbell Kelly, 80, of Closplint, KY. Georgia passed peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 while surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. She was born on September 25, 1945 in Closplint, KY to Kenzie and Lizzie Winstead who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her late husband, Billy Gene Kelly; and her beloved siblings, Elta Zimmerman, Barbara Mefford, Wanda Amann, Verda Spicer, Helen Wilson, Junior Winstead, Verlon Winstead, and Foxy Lee Winstead.
Georgia was a member of the Louellen Pentecostal Church and believed in the Pentecostal faith. She lived most of her life in Closplint, where she baked cakes for families throughout the Clover Fork area. When she was not making cakes, fudge, or peanut butter roll, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting afghans, and cooking for her family. Her grandchildren will always remember her chicken and dumplings and biscuits and gravy, whom they agreed was the best in the world. Through every meal and quilt she made, she shared her love with those around her.
Left to mourn her passing are her two children: her son, Danny Campbell Jr. and wife, Angela, of Corbin, KY; and her daughter, Carolyn Alred and husband, Bobby Joe, of Closplint, KY.
She also leaves behind her grandchildren, who loved her dearly: Dustin Campbell and wife, Ashley, of Corbin, KY; Jessica Gibbons and husband, Bryan, of Miracle, KY; Jake Alred and wife, Whitney, of Speedwell, TN; and Nicholas Campbell of Corbin, KY. She made them all feel like they were each her favorite.
She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, Hunter Campbell; Anna Jo, Natalie, Abigail, and Lydia Gibbons; and Sara-Kate, Benjamin, and Gatlin Alred, all of whom she said were precious.
She is survived by two brothers, Wayne Winstead of Cincinnati, OH, and Harold Winstead and wife, Barbara of Cubrun, KY. Also surviving is the father of her children, Danny Campbell Sr. of Calvin, KY, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Her visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 1:00 until 2:00 at the Louellen Pentecostal Church in Louellen, KY. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 with Reverend Ronnie Boggs officiating. Music will be provided by members of the Louellen Pentecostal Church.
Graveside services will immediately follow at the Evarts Memorial Gardens in Evarts, KY.
Evarts Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Georgia Campbell Kelly.
