Hubert Wayne Boggs, age 70, of Cumberland, Kentucky, met his Savior face to face on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at his home surrounded by family. Born on November 18, 1952, in Benham, KY, to Willie and Mable Williams Boggs, Hubert was one of twelve children. He was a life-long resident of the Tri-Cities area and married the love of his life, Daisy Brock, on September 5, 1973. Hubert and Daisy shared a love that produced seven children and spanned fifty years.

Hubert worked in the coal mines to support his family but also was a volunteer firefighter for the forestry division. His family was his world and Hubert was happiest when surrounded by his large family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Hubert was a baptized believer in Jesus Christ and he and Daisy attended Hiram Pentecostal Church then later the Park Road Pentecostal Church.

Hubert is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Mable Boggs; a son, David Lewis; two grandsons, Matthew Cornett and Devin Lewis; and six siblings: Pauline Brock, Shirley Frances Boggs, Willie Boggs, Nathaniel Boggs, Taft Boggs, and Raymond Boggs.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of forty-nine years, Daisy Boggs, of Cumberland; six children: Harold Lewis (Mary Ellen), Elsie Cornett, Tammy Johnson (Paul Hayes), Tonya Lewis (Bobby 'June Bugg'), Melody Banks (Jimmy), all of Cumberland, Donna Sue Philpot of Tennessee; five brothers: James Boggs (Wanda), Irvin Boggs (Sue), Jeff Boggs (Betty), Orville Boggs, Allen Boggs; son-in-law, Jimmy Banks, who was loved like a son; twenty-seven grandchildren: Bobby Lewis, Steven Lewis, Ella Burkhart, Jonathan Banks, Austin Banks, Amanda Larue, Audrea Brasher, Brittany Niece, Stephanie Davidson, Angela Lewis, Melissa Adams, Johnny Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Brian Banks, Justin 'Henry' Banks, Andrew Banks, Adam Banks, Nikki Couch, Shawn Lewis, Dawson Lewis, Angel Lewis, James Lewis, Melissa Lewis, Joshua Lewis, Kimberly Lewis; many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; as well as a host of extended relatives as well as many dear friends.

Visitation for Hubert will be Friday, August 4, 2023, from 5:00-8:00PM at the Tri City Funeral Home. His funeral will be Saturday at 12 noon with Pastor Jonathan Monhollen officiating. Hubert will be laid to rest at the Monte Vista Cemetery in Cumberland, KY. Pallbearers will be James Ray Boggs, Tim Boggs, Bobby Lewis, Jeff Boggs, Steven Adams, Josh Boggs, Steven Lewis, Ashtan Adams, Doug Niece, Travis Davison, Johnny Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Banks, Austin Banks, Bobby 'June Bug' Lewis.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tri City Funeral Home to help offset the cost of Hubert's services.
