Jacob "Jake" Helton, 32, of Kenvir passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Hospital from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.  Jake had previously worked as a general carpenter, a floor manager for Toyotomi and as a heavy equipment operator at Forest Products.  He was a good, hard worker.  He had worked his entire life and was an exceptional leader.  He led by example, helping many people along the way.  He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who was struggling or needed guidance.  Even in his death he was still a giving person.  He was a registered organ donor and his generosity will better the lives of others.  When he wasn't working he enjoyed spending time in the mountains, hunting ginseng and fishing.

Jake is preceded in death by his father, Tony Helton; a brother, Johnathon Dewayne Blevins; his maternal grandfather, Bill Blevins; his paternal grandparents, Louie and Maxine Helton; a very special uncle that was like a brother to him, Adam Blevins; three uncles, Steve, Lee and Allen Helton; and a cousin, Liberty Faith Blevins McMillon.

He is survived by his mother, Loretta Blevins, Harlan; two brothers, Joshua Andy Blevins and fiancé, Kimberly Farmer, Harlan; Tyler Helton, Richmond, KY; his maternal grandmother, Ruby Blevins, Kenvir; uncles, Glen Helton, Bill Patrick Blevins and wife, Gracie, and Donnie Blevins and fiancé, Rosemary Johnson, all of Kenvir; Darrel Blevins and wife, Merlisa, Alto, GA; aunts, Linda Helton Knopp and Barybee Smiddy, both of Illinois; Mary Ayscue, Virginia Beach, VA; and a host of cousins and other family and friends, including his lifelong best friend and co-worker, Donald Brock, Kenvir.

His visitation will be Monday, July 3, 2023, at the Evarts Funeral Home beginning at 11 am with his funeral service to follow at 1 pm.  The Reverend Rodney Freeman will officiate.

His burial will be in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with his family and friends serving as pallbearers.
