James Don Ross, 91, of Loyall went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the Holston Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Kingsport, TN. He was born on in April 4, 1931 in Harlan County. Don was the owner and operator of Ross Auto Sales in Baxter for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and believed in the Church of God faith.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Ross and Ruth Bell Ross; one son, James Britton (Jim) Ross; one brother, Ronald Ross; and one infant sister.

Don is survived by his wife of 68 years, Peggy Joyce Lewis Ross, Loyall; one daughter, Donna Smith and husband, Dean, Powhatan, VA; two grandchildren, Britt Ross, California, KY; Corey Ross, Loyall; and one great-granddaughter, Bella Ross, Lexington.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
