James Wayne Scott, 80, of Totz, passed away following a short illness on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital surrounded by family. He was born January 18, 1942 in Nolansburg to the late Lee and Rhoda Cole Scott. James had a long career in construction especially in dry wall finishing. To know James was to love him, he loved and was loved by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Scott and Rhoda Cole Scott; siblings; Samuel "Ed" Scott, Evelyn Scott and Edna "Mae" Scott.

James leaves to cherish his memories his children, Donna Scott; Peggy Scott; Mary Briggs and husband Robert; Douglas Scott; and Adam Scott, all of Baltimore, MD; a brother, Lee Roy Scott, of Nolansburg; a special niece, Melony Morris and husband, Clark, Nolansburg; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and many friends who affectionately referred to him as "Homie".

Visitation will be Friday, January 13, 2023, from 5 to 7 PM at Tri City Funeral Home. His funeral service will begin at 7 pm with Reverend Jason Caudill officiating.
