Our family is sad to announce the tragic passing of Jason Craig Chafin, 42 of Castlewood, VA. Jason died at 42 years old and is survived by his two children, Faith and Ethen Chafin, his mother, Leta Brown Chafin, and his sister, Heather Chafin. Jason was born on September 18, 1981, in Castlewood, VA. He joined his father, Ric Chafin, in heaven on April 26, 2024.

Jason was a charming and compassionate man. He was the kind of person who could easily get people on his side with his contagious laugh, quick wit, sly smile, and sparkling blue eyes. Anyone who met Jason would find themselves loving him quickly and would have their hearts ache for him years afterwards.

Though we mourn the loss of Jason, there is solace in knowing that he is finally at peace. Jason loved God with all his heart and we know that he is finally home. Rest easy, Jay, knowing that your spirit lives on in the laughter and love you brought into our lives. You will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 P.M.  Thursday, May 2, 2024, at the Shoemaker Cemetery, at Keith, KY with the pastor John Smith officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
