Jeffrey Roger Mefford, 58, of Closplint departed this life on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Harlan App. Reg. Hospital.  He was born on January 18, 1967 in Dayton, Ohio but had lived here most of his life. A graduate of Evarts High School, Jeff was a former coal truck driver, welder and mechanic.  He loved to help people, especially doing something with his hands, and enjoyed fishing.  He believed in the Holiness faith.

Jeff is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leamon and Beatrice Mefford; his maternal grandparents, Edith and Charles Lawson; and a special niece, Tamara Mefford.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Cora Cloud Mefford, Closplint; his parents, Judith Lawson Mefford and Kenneth Mefford, Brookside; three children, Crystal Nolan and husband, Chad, Wallins; Jeffrey Wayne Mefford and wife, Meredith, Brookside; Tonisha Dean and husband, Jerry, Harlan; and two brothers, Kevin Mefford and wife, Carla, Annville, KY; and Steve Mefford, Brookside.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Tommy Dean, James Testa, Cayden Mefford, Ryan Testa, Kenny Mefford, Lily Dean, Nikki Dean and Austin Dean; as well as a host of other family and friends.

His visitation will be held Friday from 4 until 8 pm at the Louellen Pentecostal Church.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 2 pm at the Church with the Reverend Greg Eldridge and the Reverend Ronnie Boggs officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with his family and friends serving as pallbearers.
