Obituary

Jennifer Lynn Day Halcomb, age 48, of Whitesburg, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly at the Pikeville Medical Center on Monday, April 24, 2023.

Jennifer was born in Whitesburg on November 23, 1974, to Thelma Frances Day Stewart. She attended Whitesburg High School. She was outgoing, loud, and outspoken, with a big, beautiful personality and a great zest for life. She was a wonderful cook, a hard worker, and was always willing to help anyone in need. Jennifer went to cosmetology school and was a gifted hairdresser but never worked in a shop. She did, however, put her hair dressing skill to use on her family and friends.

Jennifer loved her three children more than anything and attended every sporting event they were involved in. She enjoyed fishing, family cookouts, doing crafts, riding 4-wheelers and was a big fan of dirt-track racing. Jennifer was a giving, generous person. Even in death, she continued to give…as an organ donor. She attended the Linefork House of Prayer and believed in the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed attending the church services at her church. Her infectious, vivacious personality will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jennifer is preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Guy Stewart; three grandparents: James and Jeanette Day and Grace Cornett; and her mother-in-law, Glendora Cornett.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Marvin Shade Halcomb, Whitesburg, KY; three children: Sierra Nicholas of Jenkins, KY, Jacob (Amanda) Halcomb of Mayking, KY, Camron Halcomb of Whitesburg, KY; two brothers: Kevin (Angie) Day of Whitesburg, Brett (April) Day, Delphia, KY; two sisters, Ashley Shepherd, Roxanna, KY and Letta Jade Halcomb, Oakridge, TN; three grandchildren: Raylen, Kayleigh, Maci; four nieces: Autumn, Hayley, Kirshanna, Keauna; five nephews: Josh, Kaleb, Dakota, Daelyn, Kragen; father-in-law, Marvin Halcomb, Sr.; a special aunt, Karen Day; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as many dear friends.

Visitation for Jennifer will be held at the Linefork House of Prayer on Friday, April 28, 2023, beginning at 5:00PM until the funeral hour on Sunday, April 30, at 2:00PM. Reverend Patrick Shepherd will be officiating. Jennifer will be laid to rest near her parents at the Dinah Blair Cemetery on Cowan Mountain in Whitesburg, KY. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations going directly to the Tri City Funeral Home to help with Jennifer's services.

" 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present,

nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us

from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. "

Romans 8:38-39
