Jeremy Dewayne Perkins, 40, of Holmes Mill departed this life on Monday, August 25, 2025, following a short illness.  Born February 3, 1985, he was a lifelong resident of Harlan County.  A graduate of Evarts High School, Jeremy was a retired security guard and a member of the Huff Settlement Missionary Baptist Church.  He enjoyed whittling, hanging out with family and friends, and playing with his fur babies.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gene and Madge Brock; and his paternal grandfather, Luther Perry.

Survivors include his wife, Desirea Harvey Perkins; his parents, Arthur "Joe" Perkins and Ruth Ann "Botchy" Brock Perkins; his sister, Tracy Nicole Perkins; and his grandmother, Debbie "Bobbie" Perry, all of Holmes Mill.  Also surviving is a special brother-in-law, Tyler Armstrong; a host of aunts and uncles, including a special aunt, Shirley Madison; and several cousins, especially Tyler Gilbert and Jacob Campbell, who were like brothers to him.

His visitation will be held Thursday after 5 pm at the Huff Settlement Missionary Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 29, 2025, at 1 pm at the Church with the Reverend Chris Peace officiating.

His burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with Lucas Huff, Robert Stanton, Jacob Campbell, Arles Huff, Stacey Stanton, Tyler Gilbert and Terry Brock serving as pallbearers.
