Jerry Swim, 86, of Loyall went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at his residence with his family by his side. He was born on August 19, 1938 in Putney, KY to the late Asa Swim and Lona Stump Swim. Jerry was a retired school teacher and a retired manager of Belk's in Harlan for over 30 years. He loved to grouse hunt and fish and was a member of the Loyall Church of Christ.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Marion "Buddy" Swim and one sister, Nancy Sudduth.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Wilma Ruth Vires Swim, Loyall; two children, Cylisa Howard and husband, David, Harlan; and Russ Swim and wife, Dena, Irvin, KY; three grandchildren, Haley Fannin, Cameron Howard and Micah Swim; and one great-grandchild, Norabelle Fannin.

The family wants to give a special thanks to his caregivers, Trish Burd, Freda Green, Courtney Smallwood and Alice Sage.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, in the chapel of the Loyall Funeral Home with funeral services starting at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor David Green officiating.

Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
