Joe O. "Bud" Saylor, 88, of Joliet, Illinois departed this life on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL. Born November 17, 1933, he was a native of Harlan County. Joe was retired from General Motors as a press operator. He believed in the Missionary Baptist Church faith.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Ruby C. Bledsoe Saylor; his parents, James W. Saylor and Cora Ethel Creech Saylor; four sisters, Emily Shuler, Nancy Haynes, Pearlee Saylor and Donna Peace; and nine brothers, Clyde, Arnold, Homer Frank, Clarence, Winston, Luther, Ralph and an infant brother Saylor.

Left to mourn his passing is his sister, Mona Johnson and husband, Frank, Palmyra, IN; a sister-in-law that he loved like a sister, Betty Swinson, Joliet, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

His visitation will be Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Evarts Funeral Home beginning at 11 am followed by funeral services at 2 pm. Pastors Gerald Jones and Chris Peace will officiate.

His burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with his family and friends serving as pallbearers.
