John Drew Cornett, 65, of Tennessee, formerly of Cumberland passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center after a long illness. He was born in Benham, KY on February 6, 1960, to the late Frank Cornett and Iris "Jabo" Hogg Cornett.  After a courageous 20-year journey with illness, John is now at peace and free from pain.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Zonda "Sandy" Cornett; a brother, Fran Cornett; and two grandchildren, Alisha Cornett and Alexander Xavier Cornett.

He leaves to mourn his passing his son, John Drew Cornett II of Lakewood, WA; two step-daughters, Vonda Tackitt and husband, Butch, of Cumberland; Paula Cornett of Cumberland; grandchildren; Crystal Leura, Jasmine Leura, Donovan Harris, Jon Drew Cornett III, Lillian Cornett, Bethany Bellofatto, Brandon Bellofatto, Kimberly Morgan and Patrick Harris; a brother, Chad Cornett and wife, Pam, of Elizabethton, TN; nieces and nephews, Samuel Cornett; Erica Dickenson and husband, Nick, of Johnson City, TN; Andrew Cornett of Johnson City, TN; great-nieces, Ellie Iris Dickenson and Lily Carolina Dickenson; and a host of cousins, other family and friends.

Revelation 21:4

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

There will be no services at this time.
