Johnny L. McGill, 80, of Evarts went to his heavenly home on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington with his family by his side.  Born December 25, 1941, he had lived in Harlan County most of his life.  Johnny was a retired pharmacist having worked over 34 years at the Cloverfork Clinic Pharmacy in Evarts.  He was also very active with the City of Evarts Fire Department and had served as the Chief for many years.  He was a member of the Brittain's Creek Missionary Baptist Church and believed in the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Johnny is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia "Pat" Dean Lucas McGill; his mother, Virginia Ball Roark; his father, Loy McGill; and a daughter, Karen Bentley.

He is survived by two children, Terri Brock and her husband, David Riggins, Corbin; and David McGill and his special companion, Elizabeth, Harlan; two sisters, Barbara Pruitt and husband, Gordon, Florida; Teresa Williams-Bush, Lexington; and one brother, Jimmy McGill and wife, Leesa, Sevierville, TN.  Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Amanda Shotton, Ashley Shotton, Autumn Lewis, Amanda Brock, Matthew Brock, Jerrica Brock, Drew Bentley, Michael Bentley, Miranda Berry, Shannon Bentley, Sandy Bentley and Chip Bentley; eight great-grandchildren with another on the way; his former daughter-in-law that was like a daughter to him, Melissa McGill, London; and a host of other family and friends, including a special friend, Charlie Couch.

His visitation will be held Monday, December 5, 2022, at the Evarts Funeral Home beginning at 12 noon with funeral service to follow at 2 pm.  The Reverend Don Johnson and Pastor Bob Cornett will officiate.

He will be laid to rest beside his wife at the Ball Cemetery in Evarts.  His family and First Responders will serve as pallbearers.
