Jonathan Henry Lee Simpson, age 41, of Cumberland, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026. He was born in Whitesburg, KY on December 31, 1984 to Michael and Connie Lewis Simpson. He was baptized at an early age and remained steadfast in his faith throughout his life. Being a father was one of his greatest blessings, and his son, Julian, was his best friend. Jon especially loved golfing with Julian and found great happiness in teaching him the game that meant so much to him.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 20 years, Kristen; his son, Julian; his parents, Mike and Connie Simpson; his brother, Justin (Stephanie) Simpson; his grandmother, Joyce Lewis; his uncles, Carlos Lewis, LD Lewis, Steve (Judy) Simpson, Jeff (Shelia) Simpson; his in-laws, Julia (Tom); Rainbo (Karen); brother-in-law, Robby; a niece, Julionna; a nephew, Robby; a special group of cousins; and many friends and a special group of golfing buddies at the Lynch Country Club.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the Tri City Funeral Home from 1 pm until the funeral hour. His funeral service will be at 3 pm with Mitch Huff officiating. Interment will follow at the Benham Cemetery with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
