Obituary

Judy Renee Dixon Sweet passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025, at the age of 67 from flu related pneumonia. Born May 20, 1957, Judy lived in the Tri-Cities area for the majority of her life. She graduated from Cumberland High School in 1975 and worked in multiple capacities in the service industry and as a homemaker. She was the wife of the late Larry Joe Sweet. Judy loved her family, friends, and animals of all kinds. She never met a knick knack she couldn't find a home for, or a chihuahua she didn't fall in love with at first sight. She believed in the Christian faith and loved attending the Greater Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Lynch, Kentucky, which strengthened her relationship with Jesus.

Her family was her world. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Joe Sweet, and several siblings. She is survived by one sister, six brothers and their families, and her daughters, Candra (Sweet) and Ray Miller of Harlan, and Shannon (Boggs) and John LePage of Boerne, Texas. Grandchildren Hanna Miller, Patrick Turner, Marcus Turner, and Spencer LePage survive her.

Judy loved the role of being a grandmother most of all. Hanna lit up her world and she enjoyed every minute they got to spend together and especially treasured their sleepovers. Her grandchildren inherited Judy's love of animals, and she and Hanna loved to spend time with each others' pets.

Her services will be held at the Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 1 PM with the Reverend Ronnie Hampton officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Greater Mount Sinai Baptist Church at 409 1st Street, Lynch, Kentucky 40855.

Tri City Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Judy Sweet.
