Kathleen "Kit" Bailey Hayes, 85, of Eastpointe, MI, formerly of Evarts, departed this life at the Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, MI, on Thursday, June 29, 2023, following a brief illness. She was born March 3, 1938, in Evarts, KY, but had lived in Michigan for a great part of her life. Kit was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Trinity Assembly of God-Eastpointe, MI. She loved spending her time with children, going to church and supporting missionaries.

Kit is preceded in death by her parents, Harrison Bailey and Lula Mae Eads Bailey; her first husband, Billie Gene "Bill" Hayes; three brothers, James A Bailey, Frank Bailey and Gene "Pug" Bailey; her sister, Joyce Bailey Rowlands; and a sister-in-law, Linda Bailey.

Survivors include her husband, James Gordon, Eastpointe, MI; her son, Paul Anthony Hayes and wife, Elly, Warren, MI; a brother, Clark "Butch" Bailey, Lake Orion, MI; two grandchildren, Jennifer Hayes and Nicholas Hayes and wife, Laurina; two great-grandchildren, Anthony Hayes and Logan Wesserling; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at 10 am at the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith with Rick Moore officiating.
