Kathy Faye Ledford Shell, 72, of Evarts departed this life for her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.  Born July 5, 1950 in Harlan County, she was a homemaker and believed in the Baptist faith.

Kathy is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Dale Shell; and her parents, John Ledford and Ethel Dean Ledford.

Survivors include four children, Rodney Ledford and wife, Tammy, who is also a step-daughter, Evarts; Penny Ledford and Ray Partin, Putney; Dennis Ledford and fiancé, Sheila Middleton, Evarts; and Roger Shell, Jr. and wife, Candace, London; another step-daughter, Crystal Moore and husband, Tim, Evarts; two sisters, Elizabeth Crabtree, Lafayette, IN; Lena Howard and husband, Bill, Luttrell, TN; and a brother, Joe Ledford and Shannon Stine, Lafayette, IN.  Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, Alyssa Shell, Haley and Jesse Ledford, Kathy Jones, Mary and Elgon Partin, Jr., Martha and Wesley Thomas, Timothy, Dillon, Justin and Kristen Moore, Joshua Kelly; several great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 5, 2022, at the Evarts Funeral Home beginning at 12 noon with funeral services to follow at 2 pm.  The Reverend Kelles Greer will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Ages-Brookside Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
