Lawrence Lee Rigney, 78, of Providence, KY, went home to be with his person whom he was married to for 50 years on Monday, October, 12, 2026, at his home. He was born in Tennessee on December 13, 1947 to the late Winfred and Rachel Creekmoore Rigney.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Brenda Clendenen Rigney; a brother, Mark Evan Rigney; and a sister, Cathy Richardson.

He leaves to mourn his passing his children, Darren Rigney and wife, Buffy, of Providence, KY; Melissa (Pooh) Rigney Stairs of Murray, KY; three brothers, Carlos Rigney and wife, Lorna, of Indiana; Reggie Rigney and wife, Pam, of Greeneville, TN; and Terry Rigney of Big Stone Gap, VA; five grandchildren, Rachel and Travis Rigney; and Lynsey, Logan and Lucas Stairs; two great-grandchildren, Lawrence Nathaniel Rigney; and Gwenivere Imara Rigney; and a step Great-granddaughter, Aurora Ashae Hodges.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Tri City Funeral Home from 12 pm until the funeral hour. His funeral service will be at 2 pm with the Reverend Jake Ravizee officiating. Interment will follow at the Benham Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
