Lewis Glen Perkins, 69, of Dayhoit went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 18, 2024. He was born March 18, 1955 in Harlan County, and lived here most of his life. He was a coal miner for 23 years, a U.S. Army Veteran and he believed in the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Lundy Maggard; and his step-father, Frank Maggard.

Lewis is survived by his wife of 34 years, Oaklee Tribble Perkins, Dayhoit; two children, Sandra Perkins, Dayhoit; and Aden Perkins, Dayhoit; one sister, Betty Ruth Drew, Harlan; one grandchild, Novah Slusher; and one on the way, Oaklen Perkins. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2024, in the chapel of the Loyall Funeral Home with a memorial service starting at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Bill Wallace officiating.
