Obituary

Lois "Faye" Dixon made her final transition the morning of September 10th, 2024 succumbing to extensive metastatic lung cancer and heart failure. Though she spent the majority of her life in Cumberland, Kentucky, Faye spent her final months of life residing with her daughter in Pikeville KY where she impacted many lives in that short time. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, loyal friend, and faithful sister in Christ to many. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, working puzzles, spending time with loved ones but most of all reading, studying and spreading God's word.

Faye is survived by sisters Wanda Sue Bailey and Helen Bailey of Cumberland KY; brother, Herbert (Melinda) Bailey of TN; daughters Judy Lewis of Cumberland KY, Bobbie Jo Sowards of Cranks KY, April (Marlie) Sullivan of Harlan KY, and Tammy (David) White of Pikeville KY; grandchildren Ashley (Jason) Clark, Orrin (Julianna) Shell, Beronica (Tyler) Short, Whitney (Jeff) Stewart, Matthew Shell, Marlie "Junior" (Ashton) Sullivan, Sara (Zack) Hurt, and Sophia White; great grand-children Kaylee, Jaylyn, Cassie, Donovan, Daniel, Justin, Chloe, Alice Faye, Liam, Logan, Taylor Rae, Liliana, McKenzie, Anton, Mariah, Allen, Joey and Carter; one unborn great-great granddaughter Acelynn Raelee; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Bobby Dixon; parents Edith and Noah Bailey; brothers Troy Bailey, Coy Bailey and Ralph Bailey; sisters Ida "Teddy" Eversole and Joyce Minor; daughter Barbara Ellen Dixon.

While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering. In Faye's final words she shared her love for ALL of her family "every last one from the oldest to the youngest".

In honor of her memory, Faye's services will be held at Tri City Funeral Home in Benham, KY. Visitation Thursday, September 12th from 5pm- 8pm. Funeral service will be held Friday, September 13th at 1pm. Following, all who are able are invited to pay their respects at the Sandhill Cemetery in Cumberland where family will gather for her burial.
