Lou Ellen Harris Baker, 72, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 15, 1952 to the late Abe and Ora Harris. Lou Ellen was a homemaker and loved cooking big meals for her family to enjoy, especially around the holidays. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to everyone she met. Lou Ellen enjoyed gardening, harvesting fresh vegetables for her wonderful meals.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Baker Sr.; a son, Robert Baker Jr.; an infant son, Marvin Jean Harris; two brothers, Leonard Harris; Ronald (Frog) Harris; and a sister, Geneva Carmac.

She leaves to mourn her passing, two children, Della Baker of Putney; Jamie Baker of Benham; three sisters, Joann Combs of Cumberland; Edith Widner and husband, Dean, of Partridge; Glenda Cleaver and husband, David, of Western, KY; two granddaughters, Kendall Baker of Putney; and Tiffany Baldwin of Wallins; five great-grandchildren, Kaylionna, Alaya, Brylan, McKinlee and Lillian; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, from 5 to 7 pm at the Tri City Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 1 pm in the Chapel of the Tri City Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Peaceful Branch Cemetery in Gordon, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
